Lewis & Clark College has several events planned that the public is invited to attend. The events are free of charge, unless noted otherwise. The campus is located at 0615 SW Palatine Hill Road in Portland, just off Terwilliger Boulevard.

Watzek Screens: ‘80s indie film series - 7 p.m., Miller Hall 102. The film for March 6 is “Repo Man;” March 20 is “She’s Gotta Have it,” followed by “Stranger Than Paradise” on April 3 and “Slacker” on April 11.

Gongs and Songs concert - 7:30 p.m. March 8. The Resonance Ensemble will collaborate with Venerable Showers of Beauty Gamelan to present new repertoire blending Western choral and Indonesian gamelan traditions. The concert will be presented in Evans Hall; tickets are $22 online at or by calling 503-768-7460.

James Harley: Music of Iannis Xenakis lecture — 5 p.m. March 14, Evans Halls. Canadian composer and author James Harley will deliver a lecture on the music of Iannis Xenakis.

A fiction reading by Emily Chenowith — 7:30 p.m. April 3, Frank Manor House. Chenowith will read from her novel, “Hello Goodbye.” She is the former fiction editor of Publishers Weekly and her work has appeared in Tin House, Bookforum and People.
