The Arts Council of Lake Oswego is hosting two special events this weekend related to the Lake Oswego Reads tribute to William Stafford.

First is a reception and book signing from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday with artist Dennis Cunningham, who used his linocut illustrations for Stafford’s short story “Osage Orange Tree.”

He will speak at the event beginning at 6 p.m., which will be held at 510 Museum and ARtspace, 510 First St., Lake Oswego. The exhibit continues through March 21.

The second event, also to be held at 510 Museum and ARTspace, is a poetry workshop presented by Joan Maiers on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. Called “Balancing the Light and Darkness: Writing the Stafford Way,” Maiers will encourage participants to write poetry in Stafford’s style. The workshop is full, however a second workshop may be scheduled.
