Spring art and craft supply swap slated

Willamette View, a nonprofit retirement community in Milwaukie, will host its first free swap meet for art and craft materials from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 2 in the main auditorium at Willamette View, 12705 SE River Road.

The public is invited to bring items for exchange free of charge and admission is free.

Items should be in good, useable condition. Items not accepted include kids crafts, coloring books, complete or incomplete art work, cans of house paint or other hazardous waste or materials.

Willamette Falls Symphony to present concert

The Willamete Falls Symphony will present a concert at 3 p.m. April 13 at Oregon City United Methodist Church, 18955 S. South End Road, Oregon City.

Under the direction of Mark Perlman, the concert will include Mozart’s “Magic Flute Overture” and “Academic Festival Overture” by Brahms. The strings section will play Elgar’s “Serenade for Strings” and the brass will play “O Magnum Mysterium” by Lauridsen. The woodwinds will play Mozart’s first movement from “Wind Serenade No. 11” as well as “Wind Serenade Op. 7” by Richard Struss.

Tickets are $12 general admission and $10 for students and seniors at the door.

The Stafford to show Kim Millen art in April

West Linn artist Kim Millen will exhibit her art April 3 through 30 at The Stafford Boutique Retirement Community, 1200 Overlook Drive in Lake Oswego. An artist’s reception will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. April 3 with refreshments and live music.

Attend University of the Third Age

The Stafford will host a two-part lecture on the U.S. space program as part of the University of the Third Age program. Gene Simmons, a physist and resident at The Stafford, will present a lecture from 11 a.m. to noon April 7 on the concept of gravity and basic knowledge of solar system.

The second lecture will be held from 11 a.m. to noon April 28.
