ZoomCare, the new medical clinic that just opened in Lake Oswego, really does have a waiting room.
But its marketing director David Ray said, 'What's really interesting is you never see a customer waiting here.'
That is because the clinic on 111 A Ave. puts a special emphasis on not just speed, but all-around customer care by turning the traditional medical treatment model topsy-turvy.
'We put the patients on top and the insurance companies on the bottom,' Ray said.
This is done by a full array of patient-friendly practices:
n 'Same day, no waiting' on appointments.
n Ability to make appointments via computer or phone, essentially 'letting our patients make the schedule. You pick the appointment you want. If you book 1:45 p.m., you get 1:45 p.m.'
n Flat fees, which are figured out before the patient leaves the office. As Ray said, 'One price, no bill.' That fee is usually $99.50.
Of course, the main objective of going to a medical clinic is to get excellent treatment, and Ray says ZoomCare's new location offers that with care providers Lauren Blanck, PA-C, and Britain Cabler, MSN, FNP-C. They treat a wide range of medical conditions, just like any family physician.
'We have strong quality control in place,' Ray said. 'We offer the best and fastest medical care.'
ZoomCare has been zooming ever since it was started five years ago by doctors David Sanders and Albert DePiero. There are now 10 ZoomCare clinics, and another one will open in May in Multnomah Village.
'ZoomCare is going up, up and up,' Ray said. 'Medical costs are going higher and higher, but ZoomCare is trying to bend the cost curve downward and let people pay less for better service.
'Overall, the purpose here is to smooth out the friction in the healthcare system and have the system benefit the consumer.'
Ray says Lake Oswego is the perfect place for the newest ZoomCare clinic.
'We focus on neighborhood clinics, and Lake Oswego, with a population of 39,000, fits our model very well.'
Although ZoomCare has only recently opened in the heart of Lake Oswego, the medical service has attracted Lake Oswego patients from its very beginning.
'Our first clinic opened at Bridgeport Village, and we got a lot of customers who lived in Lake Oswego,' Ray said. 'Our A Avenue location has had our most successful opening to date.'
