Exhibit features art of Third Thursday Critique Group

The Third Thursday Critique Group will present Inspired Decade at 510 Museum and ARTspace Friday to April 26.

Presented by the Arts Council of Lake Oswego, the exhibit features new works by Lake Oswego artists Lisa Wiser, Jean Gale, Molly Reeves, Theresa Andreas O’Leary and Portland area artists Jackie McCartin and Patsey Seeley.

An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the museum, located at 510 First St. in Lake Oswego.

Formed more than 14 years ago, the casual morning meetings of the critique group provide a means to share works in progress and receive support.

As time progressed, the group shared exhibition opportunities, recommendations on new materials and painting tips. Over the years, a lasting camaraderie has emerged, providing an antidote for the isolation many artists experience in their solo studio work.

Wiser serves as curator of the exhibit, which includes acrylic, oil and watercolor paintings. She has recently completed a three-year term on the ACLO’s Public Art Committee.

She has served for the past nine years as curator for the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts Artist’s Vision juried show and the recent “Gold” exhibit for the festival’s 50th anniversary exhibit. She jumped at the opportunity to curate an exhibition for the critique group’s paintings.

The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and by appointment during the duration of the show. Contact Arts Council Program Manager Lori Goldstein at 503-675-2531 for more information.
