ISing to present spring concerts

The ISing Choir, under the direction of Stephen Galvan, will present ISing Out of the Americas IV, a concert of music by composers from the Americas, at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3, and 3 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at Bethel Congregational United Church of God, 5150 SW Watson Ave., Beaverton.

A wide variety of folk, ballads and sacred music will be performed in English, Spanish, Creole and French.

Performing with the choir is world class harmonica champion Susan Sauter, who will join the choir on its upcoming tour to France.

ISing’s mission is to share innovative and exceptional choral music while supporting local nonprofit organizations.

These concerts will benefit Marathon Scholars whose mission is to bring together caring adults and talented low-income children to make the dream of a college education a reality.

Since its founding in 2002, 98 children in the Portland, Vancouver and Pendleton school districts have been assisted in reaching their goal of obtaining higher education.

Admission to the concerts is free.

Donations are welcome.
