The winner of the season eight English Portland Teen Idol contest will be selected at a performance at 5:30 p.m. on June 14 at Lake Oswego High School, 2501 Country Club Road. Fourteen finalists ages 14 to 18 have been selected to tour throughout Oregon, performing at events such as Movies in the Park, Oregon Women’s Conference, the Oregon State Fair, 911 Responders Event and the brand new Taste of Style event benefitting the Oregon Food Bank.

Finalists include Ashley Hayter and Chloe Voeller, Athey Creek Middle School; Claire Newrones, Rosemont Ridge Middle School; Ally Starke, Lake Oswego High; and 10 others.

The winner of the competition will receive $500 in cash and other prizes.

Musicians Michael Allen Harrison and Mac Potts will serve as judges, as well as Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle.

Tickets to the event are $10 for adults and $5 for those younger than 18.

Teen Idol is a nonprofit project of Dark Wing Foundation, providing education-based programming to teenage students who participate in talent competitions in association with leadership, confidence building, networking, talent development, interpersonal relationships and marketing.

Spanish, Russian and Standup competitions will be completed mid-June.
