Free concerts on tap at many locations

Summer concerts will soon fill the air with music of all genres in Lake Oswego, West Linn and on the Marylhurst University campus. Toe-tapping, easy listening, rock and roll, folk — you name it, it’s on the schedule at a park near you, and all performances are free. Keep this page handy so you’ll always know who is playing where and when.

Sundays from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

July 6: Lisa Mann and Her Really Good Band, with special guest Diane Blue, play rhythm and blues

July 13: Brokentop plays bluegrass and Americana

July 20: Singer/songwriter Naomi LaViolette plays jazz standards, folk, soul, pop and Gospel

July 27: Gypsy Soul plays folk, pop and jazz, with touches of bluegrass

Aug. 3: The Shanghai Woolies play 1920s and ’30s jazz and pop

Aug. 10: Aaron Meyer plays classic rock violin

Aug. 17: Baskery plays folk, pop, rock and Americana

Aug. 24: Bobby Torres Ensemble plays Latin jazz, samba and salsa

Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m.

Concerts are held at Foothills Park in July, and at Westlake Park

in August.

July 9: Precious Byrd plays pop, rock and a variety of music

July 16: Shelly Rudolph & Her Big Band plays big band and jazz music

July 23: Paperback Writer is a Beatles tribute band

July 30: Oncore plays the chart topping hits of the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, 2000s and Motown

Aug. 6: Big Night Out plays high-energy pop, dance and a variety

of music

Aug. 13: Boyd Small’s Blues Showcase, featuring Terry Robb, Peter Dammann, Monti Amundson, Carlton Jackson and David Kahl, play rhythm and blues

Aug. 20: Chris Baum Project plays horn-driven soul

and funk.

Aug. 27: Hit Machine plays classic hits of the ’70s and ’80s and beyond

July 31: Soulmates, featuring Jay Bird Koder, plays soul, sultry jazz, stinging blues and raw funk

Aug. 7: Hit Machine plays hits from the ’70s and ’80s

Aug. 14: Tyler Stenson, twice named Songwriter of the Year by Portland Songwriters Association and Best Male Artist at the 2011 Portland Music Awards

Aug. 21: The Ty Curtis Band earned second place in the 2009 International Blues Challenge and has appeared at the Montreal Jazz Festival and The Redwood Run.

Aug. 28: Red Light Romeos, the Sultans of Smooth perform soft rock hits from the ’70s.

Marylhurst University’s Summer on the Green

The Lajos Balogh Performance Shell will play host to a variety of entertainment programs for the entire family. Starting times vary.

July 12: “Anthony & Cleopatra,” 6 p.m. Annual Twilight Tradedie performed by Portland

Actors Ensemble.

July 18: 5 Guys Named Moe, 7 p.m. Showy dance band performs best dance hits from the ’70s to today.

July 25: Patrick Lamb Band, 7 p.m. 10-piece band plays the best of funk and soul.

Aug. 2: “Midsummer’s Night Dream,” 6 p.m.

Annual Shakespeare-in-the-Park performed by

Portland Actors Ensemble.

Aug. 8: Pepe and the Bottle Blondes, 7 p.m. Copacabana

plus much more!

Aug. 16: “Taming of the Shrew,” 7 p.m. Performed by the Original Practice Shakespeare Festival.
