Lakewood Center presents musical theater camp

Sleepy Hollow Childrens Theatre Workshop is back

A second session begins Aug. 6.Sleepy Hollow Children’s Theatre Workshop will present a musical theater camp at Lakewood Center for the Arts Aug. 6 through 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The workshop focuses on theater production using an original musical as a vehicle to teach all areas of musical theater. The workshop culminates with two public performances of “Who’s the Fairest,” an original musical based on the story of Snow White.

Areas of study include auditioning, staging, character development, vocal techniques, creative dramatics, direction, improvisation and evaluation.

The workshop is open to ages 7 through 16. All roles are speaking/singing with multiple lines and parts available for all levels from beginning to advanced. Auditions for specific roles will be held the first morning of the workshop.

Cost of the workshop is $195, which includes a T-shirt and two tickets to either of the two performances. Class size is limited; register now by calling 503-635-3901.

The workshop will be held at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State St. in Lake Oswego.
