Lakeridge student wins scholarship

A Lakeridge High School student received a full scholarship to attend The Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation 2013 Summer Seminar Program last month.

Vincent Chia’s award paid for his tuition along with room and board for the national program. Each of the three, two-week intensive visual art studio sessions had 20 students.

There were 60 participants, selected from hundreds of applicants, who participated in the 27th annual seminar, held in Colorado. High school juniors taking part in the program were chosen based on their original artwork and a written recommendation from an art teacher.
