The moving and storage company PODS in Portland has donated the use of PODS containers to collect and store food donations during Jiffy Lube’s “Fill the Bag” drive benefiting the Oregon Food Bank.

One of the PODS units is at the Jiffy Lube at 17715 SW Boones Ferry Road in Lake Oswego.

The donated containers will save the Oregon Food Bank $20,000 in moving and storing costs, according to PODS.

Over the past six years of this food drive, an average 55,000 pounds of food have been collected annually. Meanwhile, the need for food assistance has grown over the years.

The food drive runs now through Dec. 31.
