Locally produced documentary set for Sunday viewing

“Wounded Spirits,” a documentary produced by Lake Oswego filmmakers, will be shown on OPB Plus on Sunday at 8 p.m. and on Jan. 25 at 5 a.m.

The film explores the impact of post traumatic stress disorder on the lives of four Vietnam War veterans and their families, including two combat veterans, an Army nurse and a Navy Seabee/diver.

“We want people to see how these veterans live and cope with PTSD,” said documentary producer Lisa Rylander of TwinTree Productions of Lake Oswego.

In press release material, Vietnam veteran Colleen O’Callaghan gave a major theme of the film: “War is a crucible after which soldiers are forever changed, altering the lives of everyone around them.”

O’Callaghan and Jack Estes, of the Fallen Warriors Foundation, were executive producers of the documentary.

OPB Plus can be seen on channel 310 on Comcast in most areas. For FIOS, the channel is 470. The antenna channel is 10.2.

The full title of the film is “Wounded Spirits, Healing From Trauma: The Vietnam Veterans.”
