BBB debt, credit seminar scheduled for Wednesday

The Better Business Bureau will hold a consumer hour on debt and credit on Wednesday, Jan. 30, in Lake Oswego.

The event will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at 4004 SW Kruse Way Place in Suite 375. It is free of charge. Refreshments will be served.

On hand to provide information on debt and credit will be representatives from the Oregon Department of Finance and Corporate Securities, to discuss state regulations, and ClearPoint Credit Counseling, which will offer free consultations following the event.

“There are a lot of free resources to help consumers and business owners deal with debt and credit scams,” said Kyle Kavas, Oregon public relations manager for the BBB. “People don’t have to pay to get help.”

Kavas said she anticipates a large turnout since the event has conveniently been scheduled at the lunch hour.
