Merrill “Tony” McPeak, U.S. Air Force Gen. Ret., will deliver an address on “Educating for Leadership, Words of Experience from a Four-Star General” Friday at 7:30 a.m. at The Bank of Oswego.McPeak

The public is invited to attend this free event, which is a benefit for the Lake Oswego School Foundation. McPeak will focus on the role of education and its importance in the formation of leadership.

“Since the formation of our community bank eight years ago, we maintain a strong interest in supporting intelligence and resourceful leaders who make positive and impactful contributions to others in our community,” said Dan Heine, president and CEO of The Bank of Oswego. “One of our own citizens, Gen. Tony McPeak, has an exemplary and distinguished career of leadership. The wisdom and value of his comments will prove to be an experience not to miss.”

“We are honored to have Gen. McPeak speak on behalf of education and the foundation,” said LOSF Executive Director Mary Puskas. “He exemplifies the highest standard of excellence in education, integrity and service.”

McPeak served as the Air Force Chief of Staff during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. Following his military career, he became a highly respected business consultant and executive, sitting on the boards of TWA, Tektronix and other companies.
