Board also could choose a new school district foundation leader

The Lake Oswego School District board will vote today on whether to hire a finalist for the Lake Oswego High School vice principal position.

Under consideration is Travis Johnson, an assistant principal at Thurston High School in Springfield, Ore.

Jason Wold left the LOHS vice principal job to serve as assistant director at Thomas A. Edison High School in Portland.

A vote to approve a new Lake Oswego School District Foundation executive director and a new LOSDF director of youth sports/rentals also could make it on the agenda. The top person for each job was not named as of press time earlier in the week.

Also at the meeting, the school board will discuss priorities in the coming year, will vote on a new school district superintendent salary range and will do a first reading of revised language for the district’s policy on hazing, harassment, intimidation, bullying and menacing.

In addition, the board will hear a staff update on the district’s cost reduction efforts.

The board’s summer meeting schedule is different than it is during the school year with meetings from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 7 and Aug. 8.

The school board usually meets twice a month on Monday evenings and sometimes Tuesday evenings. On the 2013-14 meeting schedule that the board is slated to approve today, all but one meeting will be on Mondays: Sept. 9 and 16; Oct. 7 and 21; Nov. 4 and 18; Dec. 16; Jan. 13 and 27; Feb. 10 and 24; March 10; April 8 (the only Tuesday meeting) and 21; May 5 and 19; and June 2, 9 and 16.

Meetings are held at the school district administration building, 2455 Country Club Road.
