Readers react to city plans to sell the WEB
The Lake Oswego City Council is set to consider selling the controversial West End Building for $16.5 million to a private developer.
The Lake Oswego Review was first to break the news on Sept. 13. The citys plan is to sell the property at 4101 Kruse Way, purchased for $20 million in 2006, to Kensington Investment Group.
While officials originally hoped to use the land for a new community center, those plans fell through as the economy tanked, leaving the city with ongoing debt and a really big office building 89,000 square feet to use.
