A big weekend for cat adoption event is set for Lake Oswego on Saturday and Sunday. by: DANA LIONEL - Some lucky cat lover can adopt the incredibly cute Vinnie the kitten this weekend at the Spooktacular of the Oregon Cat Project in Lake Oswego.

The Oregon Cat Project headquarters, located on 342 B Ave., will offer 35 “Spooktacular” cats and kittens from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

The adoption event, reportedly the organization’s biggest one of the year, was extended from last weekend.

If one feline is adopted, a second one can be adopted free of charge.

Adoption fees are $120 for kittens,

$80 for cats 1 to 2 years old and $40 for cats age 3 or older. The fees include spaying or neutering, microchip, lifetime free registration and required vaccinations that are up to date.

The project is also requesting donations for its cat food bank.

Oregon Cat Project founder Dana Lionel said, “We are down to less than 25 pounds of dry food, and we have no canned cat food at all.”

Cat litter and gently used cat carriers are also being accepted.
