City Notes

WATER PLANT TOURS — The Lake Oswego-Tigard Water Partnership will host monthly tours of construction activity happening at its water treatment plant in West Linn.

Tours will take place at 10 a.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month. The first one is planned for Jan. 23.

Tours are expected to last 30 minutes. Advance registration is required, and space is limited. Guests must also wear study, closed-toe shoes. Hard hats and vests will be provided. The plant is located at 4260 Kenthorpe Way, West Linn.

COUNCIL OPEN HOUSE — The Lake Oswego City Council will hold an informal open house and reception in early January to help shape goals and priorities for 2014.

Community members will be able to talk to council members in small groups about their ideas for issues, projects, opportunities and concerns for the calendar year at the event, scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 8 in the West End Building Willamette Room. The WEB is located at 4101 Kruse Way.

COUNCIL GOALS — The council will then hold a retreat to discuss goals and priorities from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 11 at the Holy Names Heritage Center at Mary’s Woods, 17425 Holy Names Drive, Lake Oswego.

HOLIDAY CLOSURES — City offices will close around lunchtime on New Year’s Eve day, as will the library. They will remain closed on New Year’s Day.
