The jelly is made by Lake Oswego resident Kelly Calabria.Kelly’s Habanero Pepper Jelly, made by Kelly’s Jelly, based in Lake Oswego, has won a 2014 Good Wood Award at the fourth annual Good Food Awards Ceremony at San Francisco’s historic Palace of Fine Arts.

The jelly won in the preserves category.

The event honored this year’s 130 winning food and drink producers form 32 states. Culinary luminaries Alice Waters, Ruth Reichl and Nell Newman honored the winners onstage. The ceremony commenced with opening remarks from M.C. Dr. Zeke Emanuel, co-founder of the Farmers Market at the White House and adviser to President Obama on health care, who noted the integral link between health and the growth of sustainable food communities across the country.

Other Oregon winners include:

Deschutes Brewery and Ninkasi Brewing Company, in the beer category; Gary West Artisan Smoked Meats, Olympic Provisions and Tails & Trotters, LLC in charcuterie; Ancient Heritage Cheese in cheese category; Alma Chocolate and Xocolatl de David for confections; Republic of Jam for preserves; Clear Creek Distillery and Organic Nation for spirits.
