Information from the public safety column comes from the records of the Lake Oswego Police Department. Police recently filed reports on the following incidents:
3/25/12 7:04 p.m. Three rifles and a toolbox were taken from a man's garage on Cervantes Circle over the last three weeks.
3/19/12 10:51 p.m. A woman returned to her car parked on Davis Lane and found that it had been hit by another vehicle. The driver had left a note, but it was barely readable due to being soaked by rain.
3/20/12 2:55 p.m. In a hit-and-run accident near the Lake Oswego Library, a car caused an estimated $600 to $800 in damage.
3/20/12 6:20 p.m. A 14-year-old boy witnessed a woman driver hitting a car parked at Albertsons on Boones Ferry Road, then driving away.
3/23/12 3:25 p.m. There was $100 in damage done to a vehicle in a hit-and-run accident on Morningview Circle.
3/19/12 11:19 a.m. An auto towing service received a bad check for $125.
3/20/12 7:08 a.m. A workbag, book and tool kit with a total value of $500 were stolen from a car on North State Street. The thief entered the vehicle by smashing in the rear window, causing $200 in damage.
3/20/12 9:25 p.m. A Toyota 4Runner was stolen while parked near Hazelia Field on Stafford Road. Also taken were a driver's license and credit card.
3/21/12 11:57 a.m. A resident of a retirement center has reported being robbed of three gold necklaces valued collectively at $1,775.
3/23/12 11:54 a.m. Theft of services occurred when somebody put their garbage in a debris container on Second Street.
3/19/12 11:53 a.m. A bong was discovered by police in a fort built by kids on McVey Avenue.
3/20/12 7:13 a.m. A Halloween-type hand with note attached was seized at a suite on Meadows Road and logged at the LOPD main office.
3/20/12 10:42 a.m. A pressure washer was used to spray mud all over a man's car on Fourth Street near the Lake Oswego Library.
3/20/12 12:24 p.m. Two door-to-door gutter cleaners are fighting over who gets the job to clean a house on Touchstone.
3/20/12 1:04 p.m. A black labradoodle has been running around on Maple Circle. When the dog was taken to a vet's office it was discovered it has no computer chip. The dog's owner will be cited for a dog license requirement.
3/20/12 1:31 p.m. Increasing traffic on Bryant Road has caused children to almost be hit while coming out of a dance academy.
3/20/12 1:35 p.m. A Cartier ring worth $13,000 has been lost. The diamond ring has a platinum finish.
3/20/12 2:31 p.m. A mother is requesting extra patrols of her house since her son got out of jail. The lad was kicked out earlier after getting involved with drugs. The mother is concerned he was involved in a recent burglary at the residence.
3/20/12 4:10 p.m. An ex-husband has been harassing his former wife via text and voicemails.
3/20/12 8:24 p.m. A drunken wife was finally coaxed back into her house by her husband.
3/21/12 8:38 a.m. A stepfather is not allowing a father to park in a driveway to pick up his children, and there is no parking on the street.
3/22/12 8:23 a.m. A former mother-in-law is harassing her former son-in-law. He is seeking advice on how to deal with his nemesis.
3/22/12 12:50 p.m. A group of juveniles are harassing and bullying a mother's 14-year-old son. They constantly ask him if he uses drugs.
3/22/12 1:13 p.m. A nanny locked herself out of a house while small children were still inside. Pop-A-Lock arrived to redeem this situation.
3/22/12 2:56 p.m. A resident of Country Commons is concerned about ivy creeping onto her property.
3/22/12 9 a.m. A 19½-year-old son does not want to go on a family vacation.
3/23/12 9:37 a.m. Vandals carved their names into a concrete slab of a house being constructed on E Avenue, causing $2,000 in damage.
3/23/12 9:37 a.m. An ex-husband was warned about calling and texting his former wife.
3/23/12 1:24 p.m. A UPS delivery man with a big moustache was mistaken for an intruder on Glen Eagles Road.
3/23/12 3:22 p.m. A resident on Mt. Jefferson Terrace is facing animal neglect charges regarding her three cats. She was given a deadline on which to clean up the animals' living conditions.
3/23/12 4:41 p.m. Two subjects appeared to be drunk when they sat down on a bench near a restaurant in Lake View Village, and one of them started playing a guitar. Earlier they were seen taking beer out of a bicycle basket.
3/23/12 9:30 p.m. A 15-year-old boy crawled out of a bedroom window and ran away.
3/24/12 2:04 p.m. A father does not want his 17-year-old daughter hanging out with an older man in Beaverton.
3/24/12 6:49 p.m. A woman is upset because her landlord rented out her apartment before she had officially moved out.
3/25/12 12:27 p.m. A little boy snuck out of his house on Leonard Street while his dad was taking a nap.
3/25/12 1:24 p.m. A child kept jumping in and out of a car while adults argued in front of a pharmacy on Boones Ferry.
3/25/12 8:12 a.m. After being evicted from an apartment on Kingsgate Road, two roommates trashed the place and took items that did not belong to them.
3/25/12 11:27 p.m. Garbage cans were found in the roadway and plastic wrap was found around the crosswalk for the third straight night at a location on Overlook Drive.
3/19/12 9 a.m. A woman's signature has been forged on some trust accounts.
3/20/12 2:44 p.m. A bad check for $6,087 was written for Kadel's Auto Body.
3/23/12 9:39 a.m. A man's name and Social Security number were stolen to set up a Comcast account in Texas. This is the second time his information has been used for such a purpose.
3/23/12 4:22 p.m. A woman reported that her identity had been stolen.
