West Linn police arrested a man and woman early Tuesday morning after receiving a report of two subjects seen inside a home owner's car.

Police said initial reports were that the home owner confronted the subjects, who told her that they were being chased by someone and were hiding in her car.

Officers arrived and apprehended Tamara Leanna Ross, 27, of Ridgefield, Washington. After a short foot chase into Camassia Park, Alexander Kean Barber, 19, was also taken into custody.

Found with the suspects were tools used in car clouting, as well as a few items of property that appear to have been stolen, according to police.

Kean was charged with unlawful entry into a motor vehicle. Ross was charged with second degree theft, possession of methamphetamine and possession of heroin. Both were lodged at the Clackamas County Jail.

"This is another great example of the partnership we have within our community,” Chief Terry Timeus said. "Effective communication when incidents are occurring helps us to apprehend individuals like this who would come into our community and attempt to impact its livability."

As a reminder, police said to ensure that your vehicles are locked up and any valuables in the car are out of sight or secure in your home or business.
