Alistair Firmin of Lake Oswego has been named chairman of the board of Youth Villages Oregon.

Firmin is vice president of customer service for The Standard, a division of Stancorp Financial Group in Portland. He previously worked for Limited Brands, Johnson & Johnson and General Electric.

Firmin holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Mason School of Business at the College of William and Mary, and a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication from the University at Albany. He was selected as a member of the 2011 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award examination team and is on the board of trustees of the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.

Youth Villages Oregon is located on the campus of Marylhurst University. It is a private, nonprofit organization that provides intensive in-home services and residential treatment to children with emotional and behavioral issues.
