D AVENUE PROJECT (APRIL 26): With construction set to begin during the first week of May, the public is invited to meet the contractors who will work on the D Avenue Improvement Project from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Adult Community Center (505 G Ave.). There will be a brief presentation at the beginning of the meeting, followed by a question and answer session and an opportunity to meet the project team. Learn more at www.d-ave.org.

DRUG TAKE-BACK DAY (APRIL 28): Safely dispose of expired or unwanted prescription drugs at a Drug Take-Back event scheduled from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the Adult Community Center (505 G Ave.). Unknown, prescription and veterinary medicines will be collected from individual households only; medications cannot be accepted from businesses such as nursing homes, doctor's offices or any other institution or business. No sharps/syringes/EpiPens, over-the-counter medicines or supplements such as vitamins will be collected. Put all pill/tablet medications into a zip-seal bag; plastic prescription containers will not be accepted. If you bring in a liquid medication, put the bottle in a sealable plastic bag to prevent leaks.
