Fireworks fans force train to stop
A group of people managed to find an excellent place to watch fireworks on the Fourth of July in Lake Oswego.
Unfortunately, the place was right on the railroad tracks at Lake Grove Avenue and Upper Drive, and an emergency stop of a train was necessary to avoid an accident.
According a report from the Lake Oswego Police Department, the people had settled at a place on the train tracks on July 4 at 10:38 p.m. Sgt. Tom Hamann of the LOPD said this was trespassing on railroad property. However, railroad employees saw the people and were able to have the train stop before it hit them.
Police and railroad employees checked around the train to make sure that no one was struck. The train then continued on its way.Add a comment
