Floraetta Pauline Ashmore
Jan. 22, 1927 - May 2, 2013
Floraetta Pauline Ashmore died May 2, 2013 in Portland. She was 86.
Mrs. Ashmore was born in Indianapolis, Ind., and has lived in the Portland area for the past 40 years. She worked for Providence hospitals for many years.
Mrs. Ashmore enjoyed sewing and was a Master Gardener for Washington County.
Survivors include her sister, Marie Bates; sons, Williams Mason Rose, Jr., Duane Rose and Joseph Ashmore; daughter, Michelle Bennett; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held May 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. at The Springs at Carman Oaks, 3800 Carman Drive, in Lake Oswego.
Arrangements were made by Autumn Funerals in Tigard.
Sara Ann Sally Beals
Feb. 24, 1939 - May 12, 2013
Longtime Lake Oswego resident Sara Ann Sally Beals died May 12, 2013. She was 74.
Mrs. Beals was born in Spokane, Wash., to John and Elizabeth (Kilburg) Riley and graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1957. She married Jack Beals later that year and followed him, with their newborn son, John, to Montana where Mr. Beals enrolled at Montana State College. After his graduation in 1962, the family moved to Southern California, where they lived for eight years and welcomed their second son, Scott. Mr. Beals work brought the family back to Oregon and they have lived in Lake Oswego for the past 42 years.
Mrs. Beals was employed as an instructional assistant to students at Lake Grove and River Grove elementary schools for more than 20 years.
Survivors include husband, Jack Beals, and son, John Beals, both of Lake Oswego; grandsons, Jack, Maximilian and Dominick Beals of Portland.
Son Scott Beals preceded his mother in death.
At Mrs. Beals request, no service is planned.

Eric Norman Dversdal
Eric Norman Dversdal died May 9, 2013. He was 57.
Mr. Dversdal was born in California to Norman and Carol Dversdal in 1956. He lived most of his life in Oregon and graduated from Lake Oswego High School. He went on to attend Central Oregon Community College and served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Dversdal was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf.
Survivors include his father, Norman Dversdal; brother, Jon Dversdal; and children Christopher, Andrew and Jacquelyn Dversdal. His mother preceded him in death.
A gathering for family and friends will be held today, May 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Charbonneau Club House.

Phyllis Knipe
May 13, 1921 - April 29, 2013
Long-time Lake Oswego resident Phyllis Knipe passed away April 29, 2013, in Oakland, California, following a stroke; she was 91. Phyllis was born in California and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in Political Science in 1942; she married Robert Knipe in 1945. Together with
their young family, they settled in Lake Oswego in 1957. Phyllis lived in Oswego until 2011, when she moved to Oakland to be closer to her family. Phyllis love for her family and friends, her compassion for others, her love of travel and curiosity about the world enriched her life and that of those around her. She was predeceased by her husband and is survived by Janet Knipe, Sheryl Fullerton, Judith Bode and Shahram Manouchehri, as well as many extended family members. At her request, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name to The Nature Conservancy of Oregon, specifically for the Oregon Coast, would be appreciated.
