Huewe cracks the top 30 as Lake Oswego improves on its showing from last season

by: VERN UYETAKE - Lake Oswego's Jessica Lee shot round of 96 and 93 at the girls state golf tournament at Quail Valley. The Lake Oswego girls golf team wrapped up the season with a ninth place showing at state, just two strokes behind eight place Tualatin.

Alexa Huewe led the way for the Lakers, taking 29th individually. She shot an 89 on Day 1 and then improved to an 83 on the second day.

That round was highlighted by a birdie on the 13th hole. She closed with a 39 on the back nine on Tuesday.

Jessica Lee and Stephanie Bell finished just two strokes apart.

Lee shot a 96 on the first day and had a strong front nine on Tuesday, firing a 45 as she improved to a 93.

Bell had a solid opening day with a 94, finishing her round with a 45 on the front nine. She would shoot a 97 on Day 2.

Claire Carter had one of her best rounds on Monday, opening the tournament with a 45 through her first four holes. She would shoot a 94 and shot 105 on Tuesday.

Taylor Yob had a 99 on Monday that included a birdie on the 18th hole.
