Lakeridge hosts meet at Sandelie Golf Course on Friday

The Lakeridge cross-country teams took second place in both the boys and girls races in its most recent crossover meet against West Linn, Canby, Barlow and St. Mary's.

The girls finished just six points behind a very strong St. Mary's team that used depth to claim the narrow victory.

Lia Newman led the way for the Pacers in a time of 20:20.91, which was just nine seconds behind the winner from West Linn. Laura Manning finished in third place individually in 20:39.02.

Dorothy Wang also had a strong showing, taking seventh place and Elli Newman finished in 10th.

For the boys, West Linn won the meet handily, placing five runners in the top-10.

But the Pacers took third and fourth individually, led by Leo Lukens in a time of 16:51.74 and Noah Belcik in 16:58.95.

Lakeridge had a pack of runners come in later with Tim Jordan, Justin Miller, Reed Mederos and Gave Smith-Nilsen all finishing in the top-20.

Lake Oswego also had a strong showing at its most recent meet. The girls took fourth place against some very strong competition, led by Becca Miles, who took 13th in a time of 20:37.10. Emma Smith and Katy Howells were close behind in 15th and 16th respectively.

For the boys, Jase Jacobsen led the way, finishing in 12th place in just more than 17 minutes. Linn Rising ran a PR and took 19th place and Kurt Schimmelbusch finished in 27th.

Next up for both teams is a Lakeridge-hosted meet this Friday at Sandelie Golf Course.
