The Lakeridge boys slip and the Laker girls finish a close third

by: VERN UYETAKE - Lake Oswego's Cole Madey was the medalist in Monday's league tournament as the Lakers extended their lead in the TRL.
The Lake Oswego boys golf team cruised to another tournament victory Monday at Willamette Valley Country Club.

The Lakers claimed their third straight tournament win, shooting an even 300 as a team. Lake Oswego also posted the three lowest individual scores of the afternoon.

Cole Madey was the medalist for the event, shooting a round of 72. That was followed by Riley Elmes' 74 and a 75 from Alex Wrenn. Brock Anderson netted a 79 for the Lakers who topped second-place West Linn by 19 strokes.

Lakeridge suffered a blow at the tournament, finishing in fifth as both Clackamas and Canby nipped the Pacers by five strokes.

The Pacers were hurt by a crucial disqualification and now have a lot of ground to make up if they hope to catch West Linn for the league's second berth at state.

Cade Lawson shot an 81 for the Pacers, his best round of the season and Timothy Lee fired an 83.

In the girls event at Oswego Lake Country Club, Clackamas avenged a close third-place finish in the previous tournament and passed Lake Oswego for second place this week by a single shot.

Cami Dozois had the team's low score again with an 85.

Claire Carter and Jessica Lee shot 96 and 97 respectively and Ellie Bell shot a 101.

Lakeridge's low individual in the tournament was Sonya Swanson with a 103.

The boys teams will play at Stone Creek Monday while the girls will play at Arrowhead.
