Teen events offered at the library

The Lake Oswego Public Library will host several events this summer for teenagers.

Now through Aug. 31, teens entering grades 7 to 12 can win prizes for reading in the library's Teen Summer Reading program.  Readers register, fill out reading logs and earn raffle tickets all online at lakeoswegolibrary.org/teen. After reading the first book, teens receive a new paperback book and can earn additional prizes for continued reading.

Participants also earn a raffle ticket for every 100 pages read. Two $20 gift cards to Bridgeport Village will be raffled each week.

A dedicated Teen Summer Reading computer will be available on the library's lower level. Gift books are made possible by the Friends of the Library and other coupon prizes are donated by the following sponsors: Jamba Juice, Oaks Amusement Park, the Portland Trail Blazers and UU Yogurt.

For more information about Teen Summer Reading, call 503-697-6580.

On Friday, July 13, at 3 p.m., gamers entering grades 6 to 12 are invited to a Mario Kart Wii tournament.  Prizes will be awarded at different skill levels and snacks will be available. The program is presented by the Library's Teen Advisory Board.  Call the above number to register.
