Learn fall gardening techniques with Master Gardeners

Gardening clinics are offered Oct. 13


by: SUBMITTED PHOTO  - Workshops will address soil testing, fall gardening, soil building, sustainable lawns, putting your garden to bed and more. Learn about gardening with the Clackamas County Master Gardeners from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 13 at the Milwaukie Center.

The Oregon State University Extension Master Gardeners will also offer free gardening clinics regarding soil testing, fall gardening, soil building, sustainable lawns, putting your garden to bed, container planting and more.

This event suits beginners and seasoned gardeners equally.

Whether you grow ornamental or edible plants, the classes will offer essential, reliable information in a concise format.

Participants take home a handout that contains more resources on each topic.

Participants are also encouraged to analyze your lawn, vegetable garden, rose garden and perennial bed and submit up to six soil samples taken from different parts of the garden. Experts will teach you how to analyze these samples from home.

Master Gardeners are volunteers trained by Oregon State University in the science of gardening.

The organization promotes sustainability by encouraging gardening practices that conserve water, improve soil health and protect the environment.

Clackamas County Master Gardeners put on the annual Spring Garden Fair, which brings together 16,000 gardeners and 200 plant and garden-art vendors.
