Attend the Passive House open house

Passive House International will host open houses in the 31 certified Passive homes throughout the United States. The Kuglers family of West Linn will host an open house on Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 4970 Bonnet Drive, West Linn.

Attend a LGBT caregiver support conference

The Clackamas County Social Services Family Caregiver Support Program will host a conference on the unique challenges faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) families in caring for loved ones serious or chronic medical conditions.

The event is in conjunction with Gay and Grey, The LGBT Health coalition of the Columbia-Willamette, Cascade Aids Project and Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. The conference, “Caregiving Challenges for the LGBT Families — Unique Facets of the Caregiving Journey,” will take place on Nov. 13, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Willamette Room of the West End Building at 4101 Kruse Way, Lake Oswego.

Visit women's health presentation

The OHSU Center for Women’s Health Circle of Giving invites the public to the “2012 Fall Salon: Advancements in Health” presentation featuring OHSU School of Medicine Dean Mark Richardson, 2011 Circle Grant winner Martha Goetsch and guest speaker Rachael Freed.

Nisha Joshi, Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. — Enjoy the enchanting music of Northern India with a concert performance by Nisha Joshi. Joshi is the director of Swaranjali Academy of Indian Music. She was born and raised in Rajasthan, India. Her father was a music enthusiast who encouraged his five children to study music and dance. She grew up studying North Indian classical music and learning folk songs and dances and earned her Ph.D. in Hindustani vocals from Delhi University, where she later taught before moving to Oklahoma in 1985 and Portland, Oregon in 1990.
