Explore a new local restaurant or visit an old favorite. This month the Lunch Bunch will visit Kolbeh restaurant located across from PCC Sylvania campus on Nov. 29.

Kolbeh’s exquisite food is the talk of the town with an amazing selection of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavors. Come and enjoy their lunch buffet. Limited space is available and cost is $6 for members, $10 for all others. Transportation is included. Lunch is on your own. Contact the adult community center at 503-635-3758 for more information.

Friday, Nov. 23 — The center is closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. The center wishes you all a happy turkey day!

Monday, Nov. 26 — The computer users’ group meets in the Alder room from 9:30 to 11 a.m. to discuss various topics on what’s happening in the computer world. Newcomers Welcome Club serves lunch today, which includes spinach salad, salisbury steak, baked potato, broccoli, wheat rolls and blueberry coffeecake for dessert. Suggested donation for those 60 and over is $4; $5 for those under 60. Call the center at 503-635-3758 if you are coming.

Lunch and shop begins at 1 p.m. Center driver Jim Liu will take participants to Safeway for an hour of grocery shopping. Call the center on or before Monday to sign up. Join us at 1 p.m. for the Woodman Chronicles presented by Frank Woodman. This session’s theme is “Backstage Movies.” The third movie in our series is “Summer Stock,” starring Judy Garland and Gene Kelly.

The vision group meets today at 1 p.m. in the Acorn room. This monthly group offers visually impaired adults an opportunity to obtain information, education and mutual support.

Thursday, Nov. 27 — The Happy Hikers group meets Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9:15 a.m. to explore the trails of Tryon Creek State Natural Area and a number of other local trails. The group also meets Saturdays at George Rogers Park. Hikes are led by Krstl Robbins and Joan Bollman.

The Lake Oswego Respite Program begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Acorn room. The program costs $30 per participant each day, and is held Tuesdays and Thursdays on an ongoing basis. Contact Human Services Supervisor Berta Derman at 503-635-3758 to register for the program.

Wednesday, Nov. 28 — The Foot Care Clinic occurs today between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the Cedar room by appointment only. Call 503-635-3758. Cost is $30 payable to Foot Care Nurses LLC. Bring a plastic basin and two small towels. The arthritis group meets today in the Alder room at 10 a.m. This monthly meeting features a variety of programs and a guest speaker to benefit those living with arthritis.

Come and join us for this month’s birthday lunch, which will celebrate November birthdays. Enjoy a fruit plate, salmon with creamy dijon sauce, orzo, zucchini and tomatoes, focaccia and birthday cake for dessert. Lunch will be served by City Slickers and suggested donation for those 60 and over is $4; $5 for those under 60. Seating opens at 11:30 a.m. and lunch is served promptly at noon. The weekly supervised computer lab runs from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the Alder room. Everyone is welcome. Experienced pinochle players will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Willow room. Call in advance to let us know you are coming so the pinochle group can coordinate play.

American mah jongg will meet and play between 1 and 4 p.m. Wednesdays in the Birch room at no cost. This group is for experienced players. Weekly current events with the Senior Studies Institute (SSI) meets at the West End Building from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is an annual membership to SSI for $30; you may attend two sessions before you must join. Engage with others in discussions on various topics and current events.

Thursday, Nov. 29 — Creative Hands meets in the Dogwood room from 9:30 a.m. to noon to work on handicraft projects benefiting various charities in the community. New participants always welcome. Join us for a game of Scrabble from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Willow room. Games are led by Ruth Hamilton; drop-ins always welcome.
