Viggiano to talk about the hole in his brain

by: SUBMITTED PHOTO - Gordon and Jill Viggiano's lives changed forever when he suffered a stroke at the age of 51. They will share what they learned about overcoming obstacles in a free presentation at 6 p.m. Feb. 21 in the council chambers at Lake Oswego City Hall. Gordon Viggiano was a healthy, active, “no risk factor” man who suffered a stroke on his 51st birthday. As a lifelong entrepreneur and businessman, he always had a plan, but his plan never included something like this.

The stroke changed every part of his and his family’s lives. In a presentation titled “My Brain Has a Hole in It,” Viggiano and his wife, Jill, will tell their story of overcoming obstacles when their world turned upside down.

They will share their experience and the lessons they learned as well as important tips on how you can prepare for the unexpected on Feb. 21 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lake Oswego City Hall Council Chambers, 380 A Ave.

At this free presentation you will learn how to prepare for a personal emergency. The Viggianos will help answer these questions:

n Do you and your spouse/partner have a practical plan?

n Do you both know your passwords and bill payment methods?

n Do you have disability insurance and do you understand it?

n Do you have a current list of medicines you need, allergies you have or doctors you see?

n What if something happens to the primary caregiver?
