Enjoy the thrill of spring whitewater rafting

Spend the day with Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation and Adventures Without Limits, a mission directed to empower people of all abilities through quality outdoor experiences.

This is one of the best times of the year for rafting as the mountain snow slowly starts to melt and the spring rains keep water levels fun. On your trip you will head to the Sandy, Santiam or Nehalem rivers depending on river levels.

All sections contain class II and III rapids making for a fun day. If you think it is too cold this time of year, AWL has all the equipment to ensure a warm day. For ages 9 and older. April 20, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., $68.

Basic Skills Kayak. Get outdoors with Alder Creek! This class establishes the foundation that all paddlers need. In the classroom discuss paddling safely, local destinations and equipment. On the water learn the basic paddle strokes needed to efficiently move a kayak through water. Choose optional pricing depending on age. For ages 10 and older. April 27, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., $40 (ages 16 and older $65).

Belly Dancing at the WEB

Belly Dance Basics. Learn basic belly dance torso movement, steps and rhythms. This is a fun workout appropriate for all ages and body types. For ages 12 and older. Mondays, April 22 to June 3, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., $49.

Belly Dance Beyond the Basics. Improve and refine basic techniques while adding challenging new movements and combinations. This is a fantastic workout for all ages and body types. Recommended three sessions at beginning level prior to enrolling. For ages 12 and older. Mondays, April 22 to June 3, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. $49.

Belly Dance Fitness. Try a mixed level belly dance class with emphasis on technique and choreography. This is a great workout for all ages and body types. For ages 12 and older. Tuesdays, April 23 to June 4, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., $57.

Awesome Classes for Youth

Safe on My Own. Safety First. Prepare children for situations that may occur when they are home alone. This course teaches children about personal safety and develops independent critical thinking techniques. For ages 8 to 10, April 19, 9 to 11:30 a.m., $60.

Baby Sitter Training. Children learn how to be top-notch baby sitters. Topics will include accident prevention, handling emergencies, first aid, child development, positive supervision and the rights and responsibilities of a good baby sitter. For ages 11 to 15, April 19, 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., $103.

Afterschool Art. Introduce your child to the world of art. Children will acquire new skills in a variety of mediums to ignite imagination, strengthen thinking skills and develop as artists. Beginners are welcome. For ages 5 to 15. Tuesdays, April 23 to May 28, 4 to 5 p.m., $45 (ages 9 to 15, 5:15 to 6:15 p.m., $45).

Bugs on the Farm. Observe and discover helpful live insects and pests. Children will then create their own special buggy bug project. Learn about the different birds that live around the farm and how to identify them based on sight and sound. For ages 6 to 12. April 20, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., $20.
