Make baskets as lovely as those that hang throughout Lake Oswegos streets

by: SUBMITTED PHOTO -  Learn how to make hanging flower baskets.This Mother’s Day will be one to remember at the Lake Oswego’s Luscher Farm. Treat your favorite mom and yourself to a “do-it-yourself” class at Luscher Farm, making your own look-a-like Lake Oswego hanging basket.

Plant materials for this class are identical to popular baskets that hang throughout the city. You will leave with your own creation that complements your home’s color theme. Plants, baskets, planting materials and maintenance instructions are provided. We will provide a morning and afternoon session on May 4 at Luscher Farm. Calling all mini dancers

Tiny Boppers. This is an independent dance and movement experience that helps children develop into confident young dancers. Dancers move to music that works on motor coordination, rhythm and strength, which is a strong foundation for all dance forms, sports and other physical activities. Parents are welcome to stay and join in the class with children if they wish. For ages 3 to 6, Wednesdays, May 1 to June 5, 10:45 to 11:30 a.m., $46.

Tiny Boppers 2. This is a continuation class for students who have taken Tiny Boppers or have some experience with dance classes. Children learn early creative expression using proper technique that is developmentally age-appropriate and specific. For ages 3 to 6, Wednesdays, May 1 to June 5, 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., $46.

Mini Ballerinas. This is an introductory dance class with the goal of fostering the love of movement in each participant. Young dancers improve flexibility, coordination and musicality, plus build self-confidence in a fun and creative environment. For ages 3 to 8, Thursdays, May 2 to June 6, 4:15 to 5:15 p.m., $46.

Modern Kids Dance. Try all kinds of dance. Participants have fun and learn the basics of ballet, jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance styles as they learn different movement combinations. For ages 8 to 12, Thursdays, May 2 to June 6, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., $52.

Health and Happiness!

Meditation for Health and Happiness. Actively develop a healthy mind and body and remove stress with comfortable meditation postures. Good for all health conditions, pain management and open to all abilities. For ages 16 and older, Thursdays, May 2 to 30, 7 to 8:30 p.m., $30.

Muscle Release With a Foam Roller. Foam rollers are effective in releasing tight muscles, improving body awareness and increasing core strength and stability. Everyone from the physically active to those more sedentary can benefit from this class. Bring a yoga mat and roller if you have one. Rollers can be purchased at class for $20. For ages 18 and older. May 4, 10 a.m. to noon. $35.
