CASA’s Run for the Roses

party May 4

A Run for the Roses Kentucky Derby party benefitting Child Advocates, Inc./Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Clackamas County will be held May 4 at Oswego Lake Country Club at 1 p.m.

The afternoon will include a televised viewing of the Kentucky Derby, a derby hat contest, best tie contest, raffles, silent auction and more.

Guests will enjoy mint juleps and derby-inspired fare.

Get free evaluation next week during Women’s Health Week

Hearing Rehab Center is urging women of all ages to schedule a free hearing evaluation at the Lake Oswego location during National Women’s Health Week, May 12 through 18.

Addressing hearing loss helps women stay physically, cognitively and socially active, according to the Better Hearing Institute.

Research shows that hearing loss is frequently associated with other physical, mental and emotional health conditions, and that women who address their hearing loss often experience better quality of life.

Lake Grove Presbyterian youth to hold recycling event

The Lake Grove Presbyterian Church Fish Co. youth group will hold a recycling event May 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 4040 Sunset Drive.

Obsolete computers, cell phones, ethernet cables, phone cords, chargers, lawn mowers and barbecues and more will be accepted. A suggested donation of $10 is appreciated.

Butterflies in the Park walk

set for May 18

Molly’s Fund Fighting Lupus will hold the second annual Butterflies in the Park walk for lupus awareness on May 18 at Oaks Park, 7805 SE Oaks Park Way in Portland. The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon. Registration can be completed online at mollysfundevents.olrg/butterfliesinthepark.

Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body. When a person has lupus, something goes wrong with the immune system, and it cannot tell the difference between foreign invaders and the body’s healthy tissues. There is no cure.

Money raised is used to provide patient-first support to those affected by the disease.
