by: SUBMITTED ART - submitted artSushi for a Cure will be held June 30 at Uptown Billiards, 120 NW 23rd Ave. in Portland. The event is a benefit for the American Cancer Society’s annual Lake Oswego Relay for Life and is organized by David Kabaker, who is a captain of a relay team.

“The evening will include all-you-can-eat fresh sushi artistically crafted by Chef Ramon from Hawaii as well as traditionally prepared Japanese steak, chicken and a tempura bar,” said Kabaker. “You’ll enjoy casual cocktails and conversation with friends, both old and new. And, you’ll be surrounded by billiards tables, so be ready for a game while you’re indulging in the fantastic food.”

Ramon is Kabaker’s cousin and owner of Sushi on Wheels in Hawaii.

Uptown Billiards is owned by Lake Oswego residents Kent and Joelle Lewis; Kabaker said Kent’s father died of cancer last month and the couple is very motivated to help support the cause.
