The Tortoise Versus the Hare is this years musical production for Festival of the Arts

Auditions will be held June 17 at 10 a.m. at the West End Building.Calling all actors! Missoula Children’s Theatre presents “The Tortoise Versus the Hare,” a new musical adaptation of the original fairytale during the 50th annual Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts. Auditions will be held at the West End Building on June 17 at 10 a.m.

Youth and Collegiate Experienced Rowing Camp. Any youth or collegiate rower who began rowing prior to June 2013 or for new rowers who completed session one of Learn to Row Camp is eligible for this camp. Participants must possess a current and signed swim test form or certified lifeguard certificate, completed PIF and a completed US Rowing Association waiver. Forms can be downloaded from For ages 13 and older, Monday to Friday, June 17 to July 12, 7 to 9 a.m. $100.

Youth Learn to Row. Participants learn proper rowing technique, whole body conditioning and water safety while making new friends and enjoying a new and fun activity. Youth who participate during the summer get a head start on team rowing if they choose to row during the school year. Students who will be in grades 7 through 12 in fall are eligible. Participants who complete session one can enroll in session two or choose to row in the experienced summer camp program. For ages 13 to 18, Monday to Friday, June 17 to July 12, 9 to 11 a.m. $175.

Customized Skateboarder Lessons. Lake Oswego skate park instructors provide customized lessons for ages 6 to 16. Class size is one to two students. Signed waiver, helmet and board required. Come on out a get your skate on! Monday to Friday, June 17 to Aug. 31, lessons available between noon and 7 p.m. $20.

Knitting for Beginners. Learn all the skills required to complete a basic scarf project, including reading yarn labels, understanding gauge, casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, various stitch patterns and binding off. For ages 16 and older, Thursdays, June 20 to July 18, 6 to 8 p.m. $35.

Make a CSA Share Smoothie. Use your fresh produce to create a healthy drink that aids digestion and adds energy to your life. One green strong smoothie every day can help you lose weight and feel great. Recipes included. For ages 18 and older, June 20, 6 to 7:30 p.m. $20.

Barnyard Chickens. Start with a chick and end up with eggs over-easy. Learn about raising chicks, city regulations, chicken tractors, the right nutrition and extra benefits of having poultry in your own yard. For ages 16 and older, June 22, 10 to 11:30 a.m. $15.

Garden to Table Cooking — Summer Menu. Explore ways to use the bounty from your garden. Enjoy a hands-on class in the old Luscher farmhouse kitchen and take home recipes to enjoy throughout the season. For ages 16 and older, June 22, noon to 3 p.m. $29.
