by: SUBMITTED PHOTO - Scott Foster will serve as president of the Friends of West Linn Adult Community Center for the next two years. He brings much experience to the position.

Scott Foster, the new president of the Friends of the West Linn Adult Community Center, is the kind of person who’s explored a lot of options in his 56 years and because he lives very close to the center and because he likes to give back to the community, he’s agreed to head up the board for the next two years.

Scott’s a born-and-raised-in-Portland guy and a graduate of Parkrose High School and the University of Oregon where he majored in biology. He thought biology would lead to a medical school degree but after three years in med school, Scott decided it wasn’t really his calling. So he went back to school and got a degree in mechanical engineering and ran his own engineering company for 17 years.

After that, Scott started his own construction company. And although he’s competent in all facets of home construction, he decided some years ago to give real estate sales a try. He’s currently working with M Realty.

Scott has been married for 34 years to his wife, Cindy, an activities director at Springridge Retirement Center. They have two daughters, Megan, who’s just finished her second year as a fourth grade teacher in the Seattle area, and Emily, who’s managing a Starbucks store in Tigard and will soon give birth to Scott’s first grandson.

Scott continues to be a Big Brother to a young man here in West Linn with whom he plans to build a motorized remote control duck this summer.

Here are the upcoming week’s activities. Call the center at 503-557-4704 for specific times and possible fees.
