Do you know the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center has a great fitness center? This is a member-exclusive benefit and well worth considering.

The cold and wet weather is coming, and staying in shape is easy to do here, as our fitness center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

No loud music or crowds here. All that is needed is an active membership and a quick orientation and you’re ready to work out. Contact the front desk for more information.

You can increase your health lifestyle by taking a zumba, yoga, tai chi, strength training or a sit and be fit class here at the center.

Here’s the rundown on what’s happening at the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center in the coming week. To register for classes or make a lunch reservation call 503-635-3758. Lunch is a suggested donation of $4 for those 60 and older; all others are $5.

Friday, Sept. 20

Editing your Digital Photos, 11 a.m. Cost is $16 for members, others is $24, call to register. Lunch is served by Marge and Friends; entrée is French dip sandwich. “My Favorite Spy” is the film for Woodman Chronicles at 1 p.m. The MAC user group meets at 1 p.m. Learn about Craigslist and Freecycle at 3 p.m. Cost is $10 for members, $15 for nonmembers.

Sunday, Sept. 22

Solo Dinner participants will meet at Pastini Pastaria at Bridgeport Village at 2 p.m. Center membership is required, cost of dinner is on your own. Call the center to get on the list.

Monday, Sept. 23

 The Computer Users’ Group meets at 9:30 a.m., Newcomers Welcome Club serves lunch; entrée is sole Florentine. Duplicate bridge meets from at 1 p.m. Call Jeanette Roberts at 503-620-5036 for details. Artists support group meets at 1 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 24

The Lake Oswego Respite Program begins at 11:30 a.m. The program costs $30 per participant each day, and is held both Tuesday and Thursday on an ongoing basis. Contact Berta Derman, human services supervisor, to register for the program. Pre-arranged bridge meets at noon. Contact Sharon Paz at 503-636-9757.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

Arthritis Group meets at 10 a.m. Lunch is served by the City Slickers; entrée is grilled ham and cheese on wheat bread. Computer lab begins at 1 p.m. Experienced pinochle and American mahjong begin at 1 p.m. The family caregiver discussion group will meet at 7 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 26

Creative Hands meets at 9:30 a.m., Respite program begins at 11:30 a.m., bridge and social group begins at noon. Contact Jeanne Fox at 503-344-6941. Scrabble begins at 1 p.m.
