New Thought Center for Spiritual Living will host a special sneak preview of “Dalai Lama Awakening” Oct. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the center, 1040 C Ave. in downtown Lake Oswego. Tickets are $10 at the door.

“This is an exceptional opportunity to view this transformational cinematic film before its January 2014 wider international release,” said Christine Ruddy of NTCSL.

The film’s director, Khashyar Darvich, will be on hand after the film to answer questions.

This is Darvich’s second documentary on the Dalai Lama. His first film, “Dalai Lama Renaissance,” won 12 awards and is credited with inspiring and positively impacting audiences around the world. It told the story of the inner personal transformation of 40 of the West’s leading thinkers as they met with the Dalai Lama in his home at the foot of the Himalayan Mountains to speak about how they could help solve the world’s problems. Ruddy said what transpired was unexpected and powerful.

In “Dalai Lama Awakening” Darvich goes deeper in the monumental meetings between the Dalai Lama and innovative thinkers such as Dr. Michael Beckwith, quantum physicists Fred Alan Wolf and Amit Goswami and others to discuss how to change the world. It also includes insights and reflections he received during the thousands of conversations with audience members.
