The League of Women Voters of Oregon will present “Cradle to Career: LWV Education Studies Kickoff 2013” at two events open to the public this fall.

The events will be held in Roseburg at the Umpqua Community College and in Oregon City at Clackamas Community College. The LWVOR studies are children at risk and post-secondary education.

The 2013 Legislative session approved major changes in the public education system. The public is invited to learn about the new programs for early learning and career preparation.

The event at CCC will be held Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Pam Curtis, chair of the Early Learning Council will be the keynote speaker.

Panelists include Whitney Grubbs of the Oregon Education Investment Board, Karen Gorton of Clackamas County Youth and Family Services, Bob Stewart, Gladstone superintendent, Dr. Joanne Truesdell, president of CCC, Mary Louise McClintock, Oregon Community Foundation and Lois Davis of Portland State University.
