KPAM welcomes Mark and Dave

by: PAMPLIN MEDIA GROUP PHOTO - Mark and Dave, in back, now have an afternoon show on KPAM radio.

Long-time, popular Portland radio hosts Mark Mason and Dave Anderson have joined the AM 860 KPAM line-up, driving listeners home from 3-to-6 p.m.

“After being off the air for 90 days, we’re thrilled to be back on the radio at AM 860 KPAM,” said Mason. “I just hope we can remember how it’s done.”

Mason, who claims to be 32, has been on the radio in Portland for 18 years. Prior to Portland, he entertained listeners in San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento and Lake Tahoe.  Mason is also the public address announcer for the Portland Trail Blazers at the Moda Center.

“After we left our last station, I really didn’t want to work with Mark again,” said Dave Anderson.  “Fortunately, I’m working with some great people at KPAM, which makes up for having to deal with Mason.”

Anderson, who astonishingly also claims to be 32, has graced the Portland airwaves for decades on several different radio stations.  He is also the co-host of KATU’s “AM Northwest” and is a nationally recognized comedian.

“We’re excited to bring this dynamic team to the KPAM family,” said Andrea Marek, Pamplin Communications president and chief executive officer.

“With all the extreme partisan bickering taking place on the radio and in this country, KPAM is happy to deliver local mainstream conversation to our listeners.”

The Mark and Dave Show launched live on AM 860 KPAM Oct. 21 and will run Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. The show will be streamed on KPAM.com.

The Pamplin Media Group is the only locally owned and operated radio group in Portland and is home to AM 860 KPAM and Sunny 1550. KPAM’s live and local lineup consists of First Edition with Tim Hohl and Terry Travis, The Bob Miller Show, The Terry Boyd Show, The Mark and Dave Show and is the radio home of the Portland Winterhawks.

The Pamplin Media Group also owns the Portland Tribune and 24 community newspapers, including the Lake Oswego Review and West Linn Tidings. The Pamplin Media Group is the largest media organization in Oregon, reaching more than 1 million readers and listeners every week.
