Langseth shares how to create success for at-risk kids

The Lake Oswego Women’s Coalition will hold its monthly luncheon meeting Nov. 20 at Oswego Lake Country Club, 20 Iron Mountain Blvd., Lake Oswego.

Guest speaker will be Mark Langseth, president and CEO of I Have a Dream Foundation. He will present “Cradle to Career: Success for At-risk Children.”

According to a release from the LOWC, under Langseth’s leadership, a “dreamer school model” has been created in Portland, which has great potential to boost results for low-income children in pre-school through college throughout Oregon.

Langseth will tell how he began with one elementary school, added 60 community partners over 15 years and watched children grow from poverty to potential.

Reservations are required for the luncheon meeting and can be made by calling the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce at 503-636-3634 or online at lake-oswego.com. Cost is $19 for members, $21 for guests, payable via check or cash at the event.
