Attention holiday sweater fashionistas, the West Linn Parks and Recreation Departmnet has planned the perfect event for you to show off your best sweater for all to see.

Crowds will cheer your unique sense of style as you run the streets of West Linn with your kindred during the annual Ugly Holiday Sweater Dash through the historic Willamette district Saturday. The 5K begins at 9 a.m. and the mile dash starts at 9:30 a.m. Each year this event grows in popularity and supports the good work of the West Linn Food Pantry.

Entry fee is $15 for adults plus two cans of food for the West Linn Food Pantry. Those 12 years and younger can enter for $10 and one can of food.

If you enjoy a slower pace, you are invited to participate in the annual parade. The theme for this year is “It’s a Wonderful Life West Linn — 100 Years” commemorating West Linn’s centennial.

The city of West Linn, with its partner Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and event sponsor Advantis Credit Union, offer this event to benefit local families. Consider making a donation of nonperishable food or a new unwrapped toy. Items suitable for older children are especially needed. Donations will be collected at the Willamette Fire Station immediately following the parade.
