Make reservations for holiday luncheon

Join the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center for a very special holiday celebration luncheon Monday, Dec. 23.

For this special occasion we are serving our traditional prime rib dinner accompanied by tossed salad, baked potato, baby carrots and freshly baked dinner rolls with cheesecake for dessert. Lunch will be served promptly at noon by the Newcomers Welcome Club and will feature musical entertainment by Joan Diehl. Call to make your reservation at 503-635-3758.

The cost of the holiday lunch and other lunches is a suggested donation of $4 for those 60 and older, and $5 for all others. Call to make a reservation and to register for classes.

Friday, Dec. 20

Quilters in Stitches, the center’s quilting group, meets from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. working cooperatively on various quilting projects. Anyone interested in quilting is welcome to join the group. Get a free blood pressure between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Walk in, no fee; donations accepted. Lunch is served by Marge and Friends; entrée is roast pork. Woodsman Chronicles will be showing “Christmas in Connecticut” at 1 p.m. MAC Users’ Group meets at 1 p.m.

Monday, Dec. 23

The Computer Users’ Group meets from 9:30 to 11 a.m., LO Weekly Walkers meet at 9:15 a.m. in the lobby. Contact Krstl Robbins at 503-635-0041 for more information.

The mixed media group meets from 1 to 3 p.m. Bring art of your choice to work on in a supportive and social setting.

Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25

The center closes at noon today and will reopen Dec. 26.

Thursday, Dec. 26

The Creative Hands group meets from 9:30 a.m. to noon to work on handicraft projects that are given to various non-profit charities in the community. Projects are made from donated materials. Newcomers always welcome. The Lake Oswego Respite Program begins at 11:30 a.m. and is held both Tuesday and Thursday on an ongoing basis. Contact the center for more information. Bridge and social group meets from noon to -3 p.m. in the Birch room for open play. Contact Jeanne Fox at 503-344-6941. No cost, membership required.
