Give line dancing a try with this free class


You asked for it and Lake Oswego Parks and Recreation listened. Line dancing is back at the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center.

Bring your family and friends to the free try-it-out class from 4 to 5 p.m. March 4.

Then sign up for the class taught by Doug Lind. The class is designed for both beginner and experienced line dancers. New session begins March 11; cost is $56. For ages 18 and older.

New — Dance Aerobics taught at LOACC. Join instructor Laura Mabe and learn moves and grooves that keep you healthy while having a great time. No partners necessary. Ages 18 and older, 5:45 to 6:45 p.m., Tuesdays, March 18 to April 29, $56.

Tap Dance for Adults. All abilities are welcome for this beginning class session that covers all the fun and fundamentals of tap technique. Learn coordination, rhythmic variations and performance skills through a series of tap combinations with instructor and choreographer Sara Martins. Ages 16 and older, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Tuesday and Friday, Feb. 25 to April 11, $111.

Beginning Line Dancing. Have a foot stomping, heel kicking, yee-haw shouting good time with instructor Holli Wronski. Learn a new dance every week in a friendly environment. Dances progress from beginner to intermediate over the course of the session. Receive instruction, CD music and have fun dancing. Ages 14 and older, 6 to 7 p.m., Fridays, Feb. 28 to April 4, $33.

Tiny Boppers. A dance and movement experience that helps children develop coordination, rhythm and strength. A foundation for all dance forms, sports and other physical activities. Ages 3 to 6, Wednesdays, 10:45 to 11:30 a.m., Feb. 26 to April 9, $45.

Mini Ballerinas. This introductory dance class fosters the love of movement in each participant. Young dancers improve flexibility, coordination and musicality plus build self-confidence in a fun and creative environment. Ages 4 to 7, 4:15 to 5:15 p.m., Thursdays, Feb. 27 to April 10, $60.

Bob Ross Oil Painting. This step-by-step class takes painters from a blank canvas to a finished masterpiece in one class. All supplies are provided. Ages 12 and older, 5:30 to 9 p.m., Feb. 24, $48.
