Experience hands-on fun in the kitchen through classes

Kids in the Kitchen — Veggie burgers and sweet potatoes. Hands-on fun in the kitchen. Learn cooking skills while preparing a healthy meal using produce from the Luscher Farm Children’s Garden. Allow creativity to mesh with culinary techniques for exciting results. Ages 6-15, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 5, $27.

Cooking for Teens — Cheese soufflé, green salad and chocolate mousse. Take the unknown out of cooking. Learn kitchen safety, proper food handling, cooking and baking techniques. Ages 13-18, 2 to 4 p.m. April 5, $27.

Adults can also experience something new in cooking at the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center. Instructor Surja Tjahaja will teach pepes, an Indonesian cooking method using banana leaves to wrap and cook food. Ages 18 and older, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 29. $50.

Explore your inner ballerina with basic ballet for adults. Gain balance, strength and fluid movement while achieving technique, poise and posture. Learn the basics of classical ballet while stretching and strengthening. Ballet slippers preferred. Ages 16 and older, 5:15 to 6:15 p.m., Mondays, March 31 to June 9, $65.

Preschool Art Hour. Let your imagination run wild and explore the world of art. Use a variety of mediums with stories and songs to make art and new friends. Parent participation is required. Ages 2-6, 9 to 10 a.m., Saturdays, April 5 to May 3, $39.

Mixed Media for Kids. Use a variety of media such as watercolor, acrylics, charcoal, pastel, collage and ordinary objects that can be transformed into creative works of art. Ages 7-12, Saturdays, 10:30 a.m. to noon, April 5 to May 3, $48.

Barnyard Chickens for Kids. Do chickens have ears? Learn this and other fun facts about the chickens at Luscher Farm through games, stories and a fun art project. Kids will learn the chicken dance. Ages 5-8, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., April 5, $10.

Trail Tour — Springbrook Park. Springbrook Park offers great hiking and wildlife viewing opportunities. Participants meet at the tennis center entrance. Parents are welcome to backpack or carry children. Not wheelchair and stroller accessible. All ages, 3 to 5 p.m., April 5, $5.

Neurogenic Yoga. A technique in stress reduction and trauma healing. An integrative method combining yoga movement and breath with neurogenic tremors. Neurogenic tremoring is based on Dr. David Berceli’s technique of Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE). Experience health in a whole new way. Ages 18 and older, 7 to 8:30 p.m. April 11, $25.
