Got computer problems? We can help

There are three types of seniors at the West Linn Adult Community Center: those who aren’t interested in learning to use computers at all; those who’ve been dragged, kicking and screaming, into the computer age so as to communicate with kids and grandkids; and a few who have embraced technology willingly.

Dick Hunt, longtime West Linn resident and WLACC member, is among the latter.

And, thankfully, Dick is willing to share his computer knowledge with anyone interested in learning more. If that’s you, you can make an appointment to meet with Dick, for free, in the WLACC computer room between 9 a.m. and noon on any Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. Or, if you’d rather be tutored in your own home on your own computer, Dick will homeschool you for only $12 per hour.

In the past several years, Dick has helped people learn to use the mouse, send and receive emails with pictures, navigate the web, create a word-processing document and set up a wireless home network. If remembering his directions proves too difficult, he’ll write down the steps for you to use until you’ve memorized them.

Dick is most familiar with PC hardware and Microsoft operating systems, but he’s a fair hand at solving problems with Apple computers as well. If you’d like a lesson on a tablet or iPad, Dick can help with those devices, too.

Dick is an easygoing guy who clearly enjoys teaching others to use technology and overcome their fears.
