Dirty talk to be eliminated Tuesday

by: SUBMITTED PHOTO - WLACC ace coordinator Tiffany Carlson readies the phones.

At the West Linn Adult Community Center, we’ve been having problems with our telephones. Specifically, we’ve been receiving calls on a regular basis that can best be described as dirty.

Despite our best efforts to track down the callers, we seem to have only encouraged them to call more often and fill our phone lines with more filth.

Fortunately, the phone company has dealt with this problem before and can take measures to see it doesn’t continue. They have given us instructions, which, they claim, will clean up our lines.

On Tuesday, the phone company plans to use an air compressor on each of our lines. A blast of air will be initiated at the phone company’s end resulting in a good deal of debris, dust and dirt being expelled from the ear and mouthpieces of our phones at the WLACC.

To prevent this detritus from entering the building and perhaps exacerbating respiratory issues with our seniors, we have been instructed to place plastic bags over each telephone for the entire day. It is further advised that you not try to reach the WLACC by phone on that day in case an accidental reverse suction directs the filth to you.

So please share this warning with friends and neighbors who might not subscribe to this newspaper so that they can protect themselves next Tuesday, April Fool’s Day (April Fool’s!).

Here are the upcoming week’s activities. Call the WLACC at 503-557-4704 for specific times and possible fees.
